Baxi combis are a common sight in kitchens from Brownhills out to Pelsall, Clayhanger and Walsall Wood. The display codes start with E. Two that catch people out are E125, where water is not moving round the system properly, and E160, a fault with the fan that clears the flue. Unlike a simple pressure code, both usually end with an engineer, so it pays to know what you are looking at. The manual for your model is the final word on meanings.
What's involved

Baxi Boiler Fault Codes in Brownhills, done properly

E125 — circulation fault

Read the E125 page. The boiler heated up faster than it should, which suggests water is not flowing. Pump, sludge or pressure.

E160 — fan fault

Read the E160 page. The boiler could not confirm the fan was running at the right speed, so it will not light.

What to tell the engineer

The code, when it first appeared, and whether it comes on straight away or after running a while. Timing helps narrow it down.

A code not listed

Baxi publishes a full list in each manual. Match your model badge first, as code tables differ between ranges.

Good to know

Baxi Boiler Fault Codes — your questions

Does an E code mean danger?

The code means the boiler stopped to protect itself. Gas smells are the danger: open no switches, go outside and dial 0800 111 999.

Why do these codes come back after a reset?

Both usually point at a part that is worn or blocked. A reset clears the message, not the cause.

Is my Baxi too old to repair?

Age alone does not decide it. Parts availability and the condition of the heat exchanger matter more, and an engineer can tell you honestly.
